Hey ! This may sound stupid, but for non-insiders, it might be good to loose a few words on what Rockabilly is !!!
The crazy and passionate Rockin'Ronny WEISER, of Rollin'Rock fame, wrote a text called It's Rockabilly in which he gave a description in these words:
"Pure Rockabilly at its climactic raunchiest is a particular genre of Rock'n'Roll with the characteristics of a hiccuppy, breathy, neurotic voice usually with a southern accent and a tape echo added to it:
A galloping, standup, slappin' bass; an open chord, acoustic rhythm guitar; a clear, piercing screeching, growling electric guitar sometimes with echo and sometimes with reverberation; and hot, crashing drums, not much with cymbals, but instead a loud consistent downbeat to keep the music rocking".
(issued in Jerry Osborne's "55 YEARS OF RECORDED COUNTRY/WESTERN MUSIC", published in 1976 by O'sullivan Woodside & Company, Phoenix, Arizona).
Well that's it, and to make it just a little more complicated, we kinda think that we do it in a "Rough Way" !!! Is it authentic, is it modern... you'll have to tell ? We do it as we can, and as we like it !!!
...and here is our contribution to that sound....
